Pakistan Week: “A mystical evening assured by Marifat Sufi Band of Pakistan’’

Rédaction

Amazing performance by the Marifat Sufi Band from Pakistan on the evening of Tuesday 5 September at Serge Constantin Theatre, Vacoas, for the Sufi/Qawali night. An event organized by the High Commission of Pakistan in Mauritius, in collaboration with Wazaa FM.

The event was opened by RJ Tanisha from Wazaa FM accompanied by a beautiful Shayari in Urdu. It was followed by the official opening ceremony by His Excellency Mr Arshad Jan Pathan, the High-Commissioner, and the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Avinash Teeluck.

This event featured soulful vocal performances by Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and his troupe, who caught the attention of the audience from the very beginning with the performance of ‘Allah Hu...’ ending with ‘’Shahbaz Qalandar’’ and without forgetting an instrumental performance with Tabla & Dhol. During the event, several known music items, like ‘’Tu Kuja Man Kuja", "Mera Piya Ghar Aya", "Mere Rashke Qamar", amongst others, were appreciated by the audience’’

As a devotional form, Qawali seeks to inspire and elevate listeners and performers alike, inducing a sense of inner peace and ecstatic spiritual rapture. Kudos to the High Commission of Pakistan for hosting such an enjoyable evening.

Stay tuned on Wazaa FM for the next event to be held on Thursday 8th September at J & J Auditorium, Phoenix: the musical concert by pop artist and singer Faisal Kapadia.
