A photo book explores nature's new relationship with Brutalist architecture, from a Japanese theatre to a Canadian library, and finds beauty in the contrast.

The book, titled "Brutalist Plants," is a "mix of looking into the future but also looking back," according to Olivia Broome, the book's curator and creator of the @brutalistplants Instagram community with over 30,000 followers.

Broome believes that the photographs will inspire people to perceive the built environment in a new light, as a place that complements nature.

"Either we all exist in harmony with nature and concrete, or we all mess it up so badly that nature is going to overtake everything that we build," she stated.
