After a four-year absence from the screen, Ranbir Kapoor made a stunning comeback with 'Shamshera' in 2022. The YRF historical drama may not have succeeded at the box office, but it created the impetus for what was to come next for the actor.
First he wowed everyone by sharing the bill with his wife, Alia Bhatt, in 'Brahmastra', which became the year's biggest hit. A few months later, he starred in Luv Ranjan's romantic comedy 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkar', which brought the 'fun and charming Ranbir' back to center stage. And then came 'Animal', giving a glimpse of his powerful performance as the anti-hero in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial effort. The actor is back in business, and his next big projects testify to the fact that directors still want to bet on the Prince of the Kapoor family.

UPCOMING RELEASES BY RANBIR KAPOOR
RAMAYAN
After the debacle of Om Raut's version, Nitesh Tiwari, director of 'Dangal', has taken on the task of representing the legendary epic of the god Ram on the big screen. Probably one of the biggest Indian films to be made, producers of the mythological drama have already signed Ranbir Kapoor for the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi for Sita, Yash for Ravan and Vijay Sethupathi for Vibhishan, according to reports. Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayan' is set to be a trilogy, with each film focusing on a major chapter of the epic.
LOVE AND WAR
On January 24, fans of Ranbir Kapoor, as well as Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, were pleasantly surprised. Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his next big adventure with the trio, entitled 'Love and War'. The love triangle is supposed to be a timeless love story set against the backdrop of a war-torn country. While Ranbir and Alia have already worked with Sanjay in 'Saawariya' and 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' respectively, this would be Vicky's first film with him. The 'Sam Bahadur' actor has worked with Ranbir and Alia in 'Sanju' and 'Raazi', respectively. This thunderous cast has left fans intrigued, and looking forward to the film's release in December next year.
ANIMAL PARK
Just as fans were catching their breath after seeing Ranbir Kapoor in 'Animal', director Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced his sequel. Entitled 'Animal Park', the film is supposed to be darker, with more violence. It will also have more characters joining in to add to the drama. According to Vanga, Ranbir will play a dual role in the film - Ranvijay and Aziz. The producers have yet to announce a release date. However, if reports are to be believed, the team is finalizing the script and plans to release 'Animal Park' in early 2026.
BRAHMASTRA: PART 2 - DEV
The second part of Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' trilogy, entitled 'Dev', is also scheduled for release in 2026. While the first part focused on Ranbir Kapoor's Shiva and his encounter with his powers, the sequel will now bring the story of his father, Dev. Rumors suggest that Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh have been approached for the role, while numerous reports also suggest that Ranbir could play Dev himself. While Alia Bhatt will play Isha (Shiva's love interest), Dev's wife Amrita will be played by Deepika Padukone (also Shiva's mother).
RAJKUMAR HIRANI'S NEXT FILM
Ever since Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor collaborated in 2018 on Sanjay Dutt's biopic 'Sanju', fans have been eagerly awaiting to see them work together again. There has been a strong rumor that, after 'Dunki', the filmmaker is ready to work on a film with Ranbir.
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Hirani addressed the rumors, saying, "Ranbir is any director's dream come true. He's full of talent and very attentive. Yes, we'll collaborate again... ''
