They revealed that the footballer received this tragic information following the conclusion of the World Cup final. An RFEF spokesperson conveyed that Carmona's father had been battling a prolonged illness and passed away on Friday, August 18th, just two days before the finals.

A central figure in Spain's historic tournament, Carmona participated in all six matches and contributed with two pivotal goals.
Her first, a 90th-minute winner against Sweden in the semi-finals, propelled Spain into their inaugural World Cup final. The second, in the final match held in Sydney on Sunday, August 20th, clinched the championship for Spain.
