Heavy monsoon rains caused landslides in refugee camps, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people. About 1.8 million people have been impacted by flooding in the Sylhet division in Bangladesh and more than 45,000 people have already been displaced.
Heavy rainfall expected in the coming days may worsen the flooding situation and trigger landslides in mountainous regions, according to the country's Meteorological Department.
Officials from the Bangladesh agriculture ministry have warned that if the floodwaters persist, vast stretches of land could remain submerged, posing a substantial risk to crops.
