A truck collided with a passenger van on a highway in northwest China's Ningxia region Thursday morning, making 9 deaths.
According to the state-owned Ningxia Daily, two people were hurt in the incident, which occurred about 7:40 a.m. near the city of Qingtongxia. The injured individuals were in stable condition at a hospital.
The van driver was killed, according to state media, while the truck driver is undergoing emergency medical care. Local media footage showed that the van's front end had been destroyed.
Authorities stated they were looking into the cause of the collision.
