According to Chinese official media, a knife attack occurred at a hospital in the country's southwest, with possible deaths.
The official Xinhua News Agency reported more than ten casualties in what it described as a "vicious assault" in Yunnan province on Tuesday.
According to a Chinese online broadcast from Guizhou province television, which cited anonymous authorities, two individuals died and 23 were injured.
The Guizhou TV post reported that a suspect had been apprehended. The attack took place in the Zhenxiong County People's Hospital in Zhaotong.
A witness informed Red Star News, an online publication, that he narrowly survived the attack and that one or more doctors were injured.
The witness's video showed people bleeding and falling to the ground, as well as one elderly person attempting to assist another, according to a Red Star social media post.
Knife attacks have occurred in China before, most commonly at kindergartens. Last July, a knife-wielding man killed six people and wounded one at a kindergarten in Guangdong province, southeastern China.
