Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez Mora, who Guinness World Records named the world's oldest man in 2022, died on Tuesday at the age of 114, according to officials and relatives.

"Juan Vicente Perez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114 years of age," Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro wrote on the social networking platform X.

Perez was officially recognised as the oldest man alive on February 4, 2022, at 112 years and 253 days old, according to Guinness World Records.

In 2022, Perez was a father of 11, with 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Perez, also known as Tio Vicente, a farmer, was born on May 27, 1909, in El Cobre, Andean state of Tachira, as the ninth of ten children.

"At the age of five, he began working in agriculture with his father and brothers, assisting with sugar cane and coffee harvesting," according to a 2022 Guinness statement.

Perez later became a sheriff, where he was in charge of resolving land and family conflicts while continuing to work in agriculture.
