Poland: One of Warsaw’s biggest shopping centres destroyed in fire

A large fire broke out on Saturday night in a retail mall in Warsaw, nearly destroying the building, according to authorities. Nobody was wounded in the fire.

The Marywilska 44 shopping mall was one of Warsaw's largest, with almost 1,400 commercial units, including many kiosks.

"Almost 100% of it was burned. The fire is being extinguished and this will take many hours, perhaps several hours," said Mariusz Feltynowski, commander-in-chief of the State Fire Service, at a press conference on Sunday.

He stated that over 200 firefighters were helping to suppress the fire.
