Romania: Andrew Tate and brother arrested over UK arrest warrant

Andrew Tate faced bans from various platforms due to misogynistic views and hate speech.

On Monday, Andrew Tate, a British-American online influencer, and his brother Tristan Tate were detained in Romania based on a UK arrest warrant.

The allegations against them date back to 2012-2015 and involve charges of sexual aggression. Their spokesperson asserts that they categorically deny these accusations.

The Bucharest court of appeal is currently deliberating whether to extradite Andrew Tate.

Additionally, the brothers are already awaiting trial in Romania for rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, all of which they vehemently deny.

Despite the unsettling circumstances, Andrew and Tristan emphasise their belief in a fair and impartial legal process.

This bewildering revival of decade-old accusations has left them deeply troubled, and they express profound disappointment that such serious allegations are being resurrected without substantial new evidence.
