Simone Biles, the oldest female American gymnast to compete in the Olympics since the 1950s, automatically qualified for the Paris Olympics with her victory in Minneapolis on Sunday, finishing more than five points ahead of the field with a two-day all-around score of 117.225.

Gymnast Simone Biles headlines a U.S. women's gymnastics team filled with familiar faces eyeing a shot at redemption in Paris, three years after she famously pulled out of multiple finals to protect her mental health and safety, a decision that sparked backlash that still litters her social media feed today.

“I feel like success is just what I make it,” she said confidently.

“I feel like right now I’ve been successful competing at Olympic trials and making the Paris Olympic team. So then we’ll see from there on out,” said Biles.

Biles will be accompanied by reigning Olympic champion Sunisa Lee, 2020 floor exercise champion gold medalist Jade Carey, 2020 Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles, and 16-year-old newcomer Hezly Rivera, who will compete among her idols.

The Americans will attempt to get back the Olympic podium in Paris- a spot they lost to Russia in Japan three years ago.
