Tornadoes struck devastation in the Midwest Friday, collapsing a building with dozens of people inside and wrecking and injuring hundreds of homes, many in Omaha, Nebraska.
As of Friday night, there had been multiple reports of injuries, but no immediate deaths. Tornado warnings were issued throughout the night in Iowa.
Three individuals were injured in Nebraska's Lancaster County when a tornado struck an industrial facility, forcing it to collapse with 70 people inside. Several people were trapped, but everyone was rescued and no one was seriously injured, according to officials.
One of the most catastrophic tornadoes ripped across primarily rural countryside on Friday before destroying homes and other structures in Omaha's suburbs, a city of 485,000 people with a metropolitan area population of around 1 million.
