It was a quick and resounding win on Saturday 24 February, shortly after polls closed at 7 p.m. local time.
Former President Donald Trumps took another victory in the Republican primaries beating out South Carolina's former Governor Nikki Haley.
Trump locked in approximately 60% of the vote with Hayley hovering at about 40% in the Republican primary.
Trump has stormed through the early voting states, racking up wins - and delegates- in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada.
It is projected that the former president will gather enough delegates to formally secure the candidature within the next month.
Haley does not have a clear route forward as her opponent has a significant lead in the delegate count and polls far ahead in all prospective races.
However, she insisted she would not drop out of the race despite her four straight losses.
The political spotlight now shifts to Michigan which holds its presidential primary on Tuesday, 27 February.
