Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Chenab Rail Bridge today (June 6) in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking his first visit to the region since the Pahalgam terror attack.
Hailed as a feat of modern engineering, the Chenab Bridge is now the world’s highest railway arch bridge. Spanning 1,315 meters, the steel structure is designed to endure wind speeds of up to 260 km/h and is located in Seismic Zone 5, making it resilient to strong earthquakes.
